Rosslyn Chapel - Click a RED Hotspot to open a Fullsceen Panorama.

Rosslyn Chapel, about 10 miles south of Edinburgh, is the subject and source of many mysteries and legends. Founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair it has, for centuries, been associated with the Knights Templar and linked to Freemasonary.
Many of the carvings within the chapel seem to be of pagen origin, from a different, more earthy era, making this a unique Christian church.

Foremost among the legends are that holy objects from the Crusades have been hidden in the chapel, having been brought here by the retreating Knights Templar. The Holy Grail is perhaps the article of most significance reputed to be somewhere on this site.

Currently the entire building is covered by a temporary scafolding structure to allow conservation work, enabling tourists to see the building from this elevated walkway. Featured in the Hollywood movie "The Da Vinci Code", starring Tom Hanks, worldwide interest in the building and the legends has substantially increased.
